I am a writer and illustrator in South Florida.
In 2018, after twenty years spent working in academia and television, I began illustrating. It came out of nowhere, and it changed my life forever. I discovered, or was reminded, that handmade art honors our most loving selves.
I spent most of my childhood wandering around an 18th century farm in New York State with nothing but animals, my imagination, and the constant chatter of trees. It was such a happy childhood--the kind that is so rare and so fleeting. As an adult, I use illustration to tap back into this tender space and to relive it, stroke by stroke.
Nowadays I live in Boca Raton with my very dear husband Christoph who tolerates my farm-raised neuroses like a champ.
Thank you for stopping by,
Kate
